Really interesting podcast guys. I agree with the constructive critism of Gerrard. I dont however agree that he is in any way natural as a deep-lying centre-mid.
Xabi Alonso vs Man City a couple of weeks ago demonstrated (yet again) that he’s in a different class in that role.
Also, while not being a massive fan of either Skirtl or Loveren i cant agree with the critique of our central defence. Sakho is one of the worst BALL PLAYING centre halves ive ever seen! The guy just looks like a disaster zone with the ball at his feet. Is this not the most important aspect of a ‘Brendan Rodgers type’ defender?
Anyway, i really enjoyed the podcast (first time ive listened to the anfieldindex.com podcast but certainly not the last!)
