Klopp's Cheeky Pint: The Secret Behind Away Wins?
Klopp’s Unique Motivation: Beer Rewards for Away Wins
In the world of football, managers have their own unique ways of motivating their teams. For Jurgen Klopp, the charismatic Liverpool manager, it’s the allure of a cold beer after an away win.
Liverpool’s Away Record: A Tale of Two Seasons
Last season, Liverpool’s away form was a cause for concern. The Reds struggled on their travels, failing to secure a win in 13 of their 19 away fixtures. This dip in form was highlighted by a crushing 3-0 defeat to Wolves in the Midlands.
However, this season paints a different picture. Klopp’s men have already secured seven points from their first three away games. Their recent 3-1 victory over Wolves, coming from a goal down, not only showcased their resilience but also allowed Klopp to indulge in his favourite post-match ritual.

Klopp’s Beer Pact
Speaking to talkSPORT, Klopp humorously remarked on his self-imposed rule: “I only have a beer when we win an away game.” Reflecting on the previous season’s away form, he added, “Last year I almost became an anti-alcoholic! So itβs of course better.”
Despite the jovial tone, Klopp emphasised the importance of looking forward and not dwelling on past performances. “We cannot always mention last season,” he noted. “We have to do better, we have to create something new.”
Liverpool’s Current Form
With four victories in their opening five matches, Liverpool are showing signs of promise. They currently occupy the third spot in the Premier League table. Klopp acknowledged both the challenges and the positives, saying, “I saw some bad things today, and a lot of good things in the second half, so Iβm really happy.”
