After the restart, the Reds’ keeper was again on point with great decisions and saves to keep his team in front. A stellar performance.

The Brazil international was a solid presence in the defensive third and even offered some good moments in the future as he solidifrom now one in the teamas we advancetch resumed, the former La Liga star was able to win crucial headers and offer real protection late on.

Milos Kerkez – 6.0

The Hungarian international was too erratic and lacked control or awareness in a frustrating half.

After the break, the exciting full-back was better and more composed.

Jérémy Jacquet – 8.0

The France under-21 international was again imperious and bullish, with a superb combination of awareness and an ability to clear his lines.

In the second half, the exciting prodigy was superb and always in the right place at the right time.

Man of the match

Virgil van Dijk – 7.0

The captain and leader of this team was vocal and aware, as he tried to keep his new back line organised.

After the intermission, the former Celtic giant was keen to clear lines and push his team over the line.

Alexis Mac Allister – 7.0

The Argentina international was the only central midfielder at times as he added control and good passing to progress.

After the intermission, the midfield man was very assured and made sure he was on hand to shield and play.

Dominik Szoboszlai – 6.0

The Hungarian international was limited to Hollywood balls and a couple of decent long-range free kicks in a half where he again proved he simply isn’t a central midfielder.

When the match resumed, the former Bundesliga star looked positionless and struggled to create a pivot which was needed.

Florian Wirtz – 5.0

The attacking midfielder was bullied, harassed and looked stripped of all confidence. Passing and striking seemed foreign to the world-class talent.

After the restart, the former Bayer Leverkusen man was able to assist the opening goal with a clever flick at the near post.

Alexander Isak – 7.0

The Sweden international was able to open the scoring with smart positioning and a composed finish.

In the second half, the former Newcastle attacker was finally able to make a telling contribution as he struck from close range to open the scoring. Unlucky not to score a second as a great challenge scuppered his opportunity.

Bradley Barcola – 6.0

The French winger was dangerously on the og delivering as he tried to create and score from wide. One snapshot was well smothered but created panic in the home side’s area.

After the break, the World Cup winner was unable to really penetrate.

The Dutch player was anonymous and lacked incision, struggling to adapt to the largely unfamiliar right-hand side.
