Player Ratings: Liverpool 3-2 West Ham

Liverpool move to within 12 points of the Premier League title after a hard-fought 3-2 win over West Ham at Anfield. The Reds had to dig out 3 points after falling 2-1 behind, but their quality showed in the end and it was a deserved win.

Alisson – 6

Thought the shouts that he should’ve saved the Issa Diop goal were a tad harsh. Nevertheless, even if you believe he might have done better, he made up for it with a late save after Jarrod Bowen went through 1-on-1.

Trent – 8

2 assists and thought he had added a third, only for Mane’s 2nd goal to be ruled out for offside. A much improved performance on the display away to Atletico Madrid.

Gomez – 5

Uncharacteristically poor on the ball, giving it away a number of times with sloppy passes. Lets Diop beat him to the header for the first West Ham goal and is also culpable for the second.

Van Dijk – 6

Equally at fault for the Pablo Fornals goal as both he and Gomez were nowhere near the Spaniard as he swept the ball into the far corner. Should probably have got himself a goal, as well.

Robertson – 7

A good game from Andy Robertson. Defended okay and contributed going forward with the assist for Salah’s equaliser.

Fabinho – 6

Still working his way back to top form. When he’s at his best he can dominate games and he’s not quite there yet. Was decent tonight.

Wijnaldum – 7

Got the opener after some shoddy goalkeeping from Fabianski and showed a couple of nice bursts from midfield.

Keita – 6 (Off at 57 mins)

Sometimes looks a bit too casual on the ball, but showed some glimpses of real intent and quality before being replaced by Oxlade-Chamberlain

Mane – 7 (Off at 91 mins)

Scored the winner but didn’t have his usual impact down that left-hand side.

Firmino – 5

One of those games for Bobby. When he’s bad, he’s really bad. This was one of those.

Salah – 7

Got another important goal with a helping hand (or lack of) from Fabianski. Had a similar game to Mane but getting the goal is what matters.

Oxlade-Chamberlain – 7 (On at 57 mins)

Gave the team a real boost when he came on with his pace and power with the ball at his feet.

Matip – 5 (On at 91 mins)

Did a Lucas and gave away a dangerous free kick late on.
