Liverpool’s Sadio Mané has won the PFA Fans’ Player of the Year award for the 2019/20 season after scoring 18 goals and providing 7 assists for The Reds.
Mané helped Liverpool to their 19th league title success but their first in 30 years. The Senegal international has been a first-choice starter in Jürgen Klopp’s strongest eleven since his arrival from Southampton in the summer of 2016.
Liverpool’s number 10 has played in two Champions League finals (scoring in the 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid in 2018) in his four years at the club. Of course, he won the Champions League at the second attempt, beating Spurs 2-0 in Madrid in 2019.
This season, Mané helped The Reds to a UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup and Premier League title success. Mané is part of Liverpool’s well-known three-pronged attack alongside Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino.
Mané won the fans’ vote for their player of the season, taking 41 per cent of the vote, ahead of Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne (27 per cent) and teammate Trent Alexander-Arnold (17 per cent).
Mané is currently in Austria for the LFC first-team training camp and will return to domestic action when Liverpool face Arsenal in the Community Shield on August 29th.
