Liverpool did not spring any transfer surprises as the deadline passed plus there was an injury update on Alisson Becker’s situation.
Alisson Becker injury update
Liverpool were without Alisson for the 7-2 drubbing at Villa Park on Sunday night. The Brazil international has been the number one goalkeeper in the world for the last two years or more and was badly missed as The Reds fell to a heavy and embarrassing defeat.
Alisson was injured in a clash in training and is reported to be out for another four to six weeks, at least.
Klopp: “Alisson has no chance of playing v Everton. Four weeks is possible, six weeks more likely.”

Liverpool will return to Premier League action in the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park on October 17th at 12:30. Alisson will miss this game against Carlo Ancelotti’s in-form Toffees. He is also a doubt for the trip to Ajax a few days later and Sheffield United’s visit to Anfield on October 24th.
A quiet transfer deadline day at Anfield
Despite some outgoing transfers that were expected to be completed before Monday night’s transfer deadline, Liverpool had a quiet day with no further business done, either incoming or outgoing.
Harry Wilson, Marko Grujic and Xherdan Shaqiri were all rumoured to be close to leaving the club in various articles over recent days. However, all three remain at the club and face an uncertain few months ahead as they try to force their way into Jürgen Klopp’s first-team plans.
