Liverpool travel to play Leicester City in the Premier League on Saturday. What starting eleven will Jürgen Klopp select for this crucial clash in The Reds’ battle for a top-four finish?
Klopp will be without six players as he has been for much of the season – in fact, the injury-list has normally consisted of more names for the most part.
Currently injured for The Reds are Joe Gomez, Virgil van Dijk, Diogo Jota, Naby Keïta, and Joël Matip. On Friday, it was also confirmed that Fabinho is missing again due to a muscle injury.
It’s likely that Ozan Kabak is given a first Liverpool start at the King Power Stadium as Klopp and co prepare for a battle to secure a top-four Premier League finish this season. Kabak will probably start in central defence alongside Jordan Henderson.
Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson will continue at right and left-back respectively with Alisson Becker in goal for The Reds. Alisson’s confidence may be shot after the Manchester City game so a clean sheet, or a solid performance at least, would do wonders for the Brazil international goalkeeper.
Alisson Becker had a nightmare against Manchester City but he will bounce back, of that there is no doubt. He will be between the sticks against Leicester.
With Henderson still having to play as centre-back, Thiago Alcântara, Gini Wijnaldum, and James Milner will probably be the players to make up the midfield trio on Saturday.
Liverpool’s front three of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, and Sadio Mané will be starting again, most likely.
