Liverpool Linked With Move for FC Porto Midfielder

Liverpool have been linked with a move for FC Porto midfielder Otávio as the transfer window is set to kick into action in the coming weeks.

Jürgen Klopp allowed Marko Grujić to spend last season on loan at FC Porto and it is believed the Portuguese club would be interested in a deal to sign Grujić on a permanent basis.

Portuguese publication A Bola claims that Liverpool may actually be in ‘advanced talks’ with Porto about a potential deal seeing Grujić move there with Otávio arriving at Anfield.

Otávio is a 26-year-old Brazilian attacking midfielder who signed for FC Porto back in 2014. He can also play anywhere along the forward line and his apparent versatility is certainly something that could have piqued the interest of Michael Edwards and his scouting department.

The Porto player scored three goals and laid on eight assists in the Primeira Liga last season across 26 appearances. Otávio has also amassed plenty of Champions League experience with FC Porto over the last four seasons.

Grujić could be used as a makeweight in any potential deal after making nine starts and 23 league appearances for Porto as they came second in the Portuguese top flight behind Sporting Lisbon.

It certainly seems that Grujić does not have a future with Liverpool so a player-plus-cash deal for someone like Otávio could well be the best option available for Liverpool this summer.
