The 2023/24 season is fast approaching and Liverpool fans are hoping to see big improvements from their team after a hugely disappointing 2022/23 campaign. Managers like Jurgen Klopp are working hard strengthening their squads this summer, but savvy gamblers are taking advantage of some generous odds during pre-season with the hope of winning big in May.

After finishing fifth last season, Liverpool were immediately installed as the 12/1 third favourites with many bookmakers to win the title in 2024. Many Liverpool fans would have snapped up those odds safe in the knowledge that Klopp would rebuild his midfield this summer, and the Reds would be back challenging for top honours again next season.

If you are having an early bet on Liverpool to win the title next year, it’s important to look around for the best odds and pick a betting site that has attractive welcome bonuses. At some online casinos you can get 30 Freispiele ohne Einzahlung (30 free spins no deposit) and enjoy playing some popular football-themed slots without making a financial commitment. You can save your money to bet on Liverpool for the title, and it could turn out to be a very lucrative wager if Klopp’s summer signings work out.

Rebuild

Liverpool’s main problem last season was their midfield. Fabinho, Jordan Henderson and Thiago Alcantara have been excellent servants for Liverpool over the years but looked stale and unimaginative last season as they all approach the final years of their distinguished careers. So it was no surprise to see Klopp get straight to work overhauling his options in the middle of the park this summer.

The boss knew he needed more creativity and athleticism in his engine room, and he acted swiftly to sign Alexis MacAllister from Brighton in a £35m deal. Liverpool took full advantage of the players low release clause to snap him up in a bargain deal. The Argentinean was excellent for Brighton last season and will no doubt add some much needed creativity in Liverpool’s midfield having provided 12 goals and 3 assists for the Seagulls last season.

Klopp then turned his attention to signing Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig. Again, the Reds took advantage of a release clause and paid the Bundesliga outfit around £60m to sign the Hungarian international late last month. Szoboszlai is another attacking midfielder who will add a creative spark to Liverpool, and he’ll also carry a real goal threat having provided 10 goals and 13 assists last season.

It’s difficult to predict the kind of impact they will have on Liverpool until we see how Klopp shapes up his team. However, MacAllister and Szoboszlai could revolutionise Klopp’s midfield this coming season, and at ages 24 and 22 respectively, the pair have added some much-need youth and energy in the middle of the park for Liverpool.

And the rebuild has only just started. Liverpool are still in the market for another young defensive midfielder with Romeo Lavia emerging as the main target. The Reds will face stiff competition from Arsenal and Chelsea but the £50m-rated Southampton youngster would be another excellent addition if Liverpool could lure him to Anfield this summer.

Klopp is also in the market for a young centre-back to come in as a long-term replacement for Virgil van Dijk while another right-back could be on the agenda if the German coach see’s Trent Alexander-Arnold’s future in midfield.

Title contenders?

Just four weeks ago, Liverpool were priced at 12/1 with some betting sites to win the title. After showing ambition in the transfer market but signing MacAllister and Szoboszlai those odds have already shortened to 8/1. If Klopp could bring in a few more quality signings, then the odds will drop even further, so those fans who bet on Liverpool early could be in-line for a big payout in May.

Obviously Manchester City are the odds-on favourites to retain the title off the back of their treble last season and it’s going to be extremely difficult to wrestle the title away from the Etihad Stadium. Mikel Arteta is building an impressive young team at Arsenal and they are currently 5/1 with some bookies to win the title after finishing second last season.

Manchester United are 10/1 fourth-favourites with the betting sites after finishing third last year, while Chelsea and Newcastle are priced as the 16/1 outsiders. It’s primed to be one of the most competitive Premier League’s for many years, but Liverpool should be quietly confident of being right in the mix for the title if their signings settle well at Anfield.
