PSV Eindhoven’s Stance on £25m Bakayoko for Liverpool
The football world is abuzz with transfer news, with Liverpool being at the heart of one of the major ongoing sagas. PSV Eindhoven’s young sensation, Johan Bakayoko, has been making waves, and it’s clear that the Reds see potential in him.
Reported by Football Insider, PSV Eindhoven seem prepared to let Bakayoko go for a fee of roughly £25million. It’s no secret that Liverpool have had their eyes on him. But they aren’t the only Premier League club in the mix. Burnley have twice tried and twice been disappointed, with their latest bid being around £17.2million.
Football Insider also points out that Everton and Crystal Palace have entered the fray, vying for the winger’s coveted signature.
The Dutch team’s hesitancy is understandable. They’ve been hopeful of retaining the star till their Champions League qualification is in the bag. With a decisive playoff match against Rangers looming, where the score stands at a nail-biting 2-2, PSV’s European dreams hang in the balance. Insider sources indicate Bakayoko might stay with PSV should they find themselves in the Champions League group stage.

Johan Bakayoko: Rising Star
The youngster’s contract with PSV Eindhoven remains valid till June 2026. But the stats and his recent performances tell the story of a player in ascendance. Under the guidance of Peter Bosz, Bakayoko has already notched up four assists in a mere six appearances this season. Last season, he dazzled, scoring nine goals and crafting six assists in 39 showings – truly his year of emergence.
National colours too beckoned. Earning his senior Belgium stripes this year, Bakayoko didn’t disappoint, netting a goal on his international debut against Estonia in June.
Tracing his football journey, one finds he honed his skills at youth academies of Leuven, Club Brugge, and Anderlecht before embedding himself in the PSV lineup in 2019.
For the clubs in contention – Liverpool, Everton, Crystal Palace, and Burnley, time is of the essence. With the transfer window sealing shut at 11pm on Friday (1 September), the race to secure Bakayoko’s signature is very much on.
