The early stages of the 2023/24 Premier League season have been very positive for Liverpool. They were able to add some real quality to their squad during the summer transfer window and performances on the pitch have also been positive.

After missing out on a place in the Champions League last season, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will be hoping his side can bounce back and challenge for the title once again.

Goals Flowing

Liverpool have scored in all their opening four Premier League games. After drawing 1-1 with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, they have recorded victories over Bournemouth, Newcastle United and Aston Villa.

Klopp’s side hit three goals against Bournemouth and Aston Villa at Anfield and they looked unstoppable in those matches. They played with ten men for the majority of the second half against the Cherries, but it did not stop them from dominating the game.

With Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, Mo Salah and Diogo Jota all on the scoresheet already, those players should continue to play with lots of confidence.

Strong Transfer Window

It has been a big transfer window for Klopp as he needed to add to his squad due to several departures. Roberto Firmino, Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita all left the club.

Klopp made the early signings of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai back in July. Those two players were midfielders who were high up on the club’s shortlist during the summer window, so getting the deals done so soon was a big boost to the German.

Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch completed their moves to Merseyside in the latter stages of the transfer window, and along with Mac Allister and Szoboszlai, they have integrated well into the squad.

Pre-Season Showed Popularity in Liverpool

Liverpool were in excellent form in pre-season, and they have carried that momentum into the Premier League. Their pre-season involved trips to Germany and Singapore, and it was evident in both of those countries how popular the club is.

Along with many Premier League clubs, Liverpool have a strong following in all the continents around the world, including in Africa. Football is one of the most popular sports in countries like Zambia and many supporters there have chosen Liverpool as their team. Some of these fans will be backing Liverpool in the betting in Zambia for the Premier League title this season where they are 15/2. With a deposit bonus of up to K3,000, new customers can take advantage of Bwin’s promotion to then bet on the Premier League throughout the season.

New Challenges This Season

One of Liverpool’s priorities this season will be the UEFA Europa League. Victory in this competition not only presents a chance for the club to win another European trophy, but it will give them automatic qualification into next season’s Champions League.

The last time Liverpool were in the Europa League they finished runners-up in 2016, losing to Sevilla in the final. They won the competition in 2001 when it was known as the UEFA Cup.

With four competitions available to Liverpool this season, there are lots of opportunities for them to end with silverware and create more history at the club.
