Fabrizio Romano Provides Update on Potential Liverpool January Transfer
As we head into the January transfer window, not many Liverpool fans expected potential departures.
The squad is already looking thin with Mohamed Salah away at AFCON and Alexander Isak and Giovanni Leoni both sidelined for the foreseeable.
On top of that, you have new signings Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz both nursing their fitness and a 17-year-old Rio Ngumoha who is barely getting a sniff of first-team football.
However, that outlook could be about to get worse.
Fabrizio Romano Transfer Update
According to Romano, speaking on X, Federico Chiesa could be set to leave the Reds in January in favour of a return to his former club Juventus.
“Juventus made formal contact to show interest in Federico Chiesa over a possible return in January.”
“Juve are looking to add 1+ winger this month and Chiesa is appreciated.”
“Decision up to Liverpool and the player, still early stages.”

The Italian has never really been favoured by Arne Slot since his £12m arrival from Juventus in the summer of 2024.
He has still contributed some crucial moments during his time on Merseyside and certainly became a hit with the supporters.
It remains to be seen if Liverpool would sanction an exit in January, but it remains unlikely given the current shape of the squad and with the Reds fighting for Champions League qualification.
