Conceicao, 23, is emerging as one of the more realistic names under consideration.

Yet numbers alone rarely tell the full story with wide players of his profile. Conceicao has shown sharpness in one-v-one situations, intensity without the ball and the capacity to operate in high-tempo systems, all qualities likely to appeal to Iraola and Liverpool’s recruitment staff.
He also enhanced his standing on the international stage with Portugal at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, even if the wider campaign proved underwhelming.
Juventus Finances Could Influence Deal
From Liverpool’s perspective, the reported £43 million valuation is significant. It sits far below the level attached to other elite winger options and reflects a market opportunity that may be driven partly by Juventus’ financial position. If the Italian side do need sales, Liverpool may sense a chance to move decisively.
That matters because Conceicao is not thought to be the top attacking target. Bradley Barcola remains the more glamorous option, but Paris Saint-Germain’s asking price, reported at €170 million, £145 million, creates a very different conversation. Liverpool may admire Barcola, but there is a point where admiration and practicality split apart.
Iraola Has Made Winger Priority Clear
The club’s current depth explains the urgency. Victor Munoz, Cody Gakpo and Rio Ngumoha are among the available wide options, while Hugo Ekitike’s Achilles injury has added another layer of concern to Liverpool’s forward planning. Iraola has already acknowledged the situation publicly, saying: “I think it is difficult to say a number,” before adding: “Winger for example, we definitely need to sign a winger, but there are other situations where we will have to analyze what the market gives you, what is the cost, how we also see the players we have.”
That feels like a realistic description of where Liverpool stand. They need help in attack, they are surveying more than one option, and Conceicao appears to be one of the names gaining traction because the cost is attainable and the role is clear.

From an unsure Liverpool supporter’s perspective, this feels like one of those links that makes sense without being completely convincing. Francisco Conceicao looks talented, and there is enough about his style to think he could suit the pace and pressing demands of the Premier League. At the same time, replacing the void left by Salah is a huge responsibility, and supporters will naturally wonder whether this is a player ready to carry that weight.
The £43 million fee sounds more reasonable than some of the eye-watering prices being discussed elsewhere, especially for Bradley Barcola, but sensible value only matters if the player can genuinely raise the level. Conceicao may be more of a development signing than an instant difference-maker, and that creates some uncertainty when Liverpool need immediate attacking output.
There is also the wider issue of squad planning. If Iraola wants a winger as a priority, supporters will hope the club are targeting someone with both reliability and upside. Conceicao may well tick one of those boxes, perhaps even both, but there is still a sense that Liverpool need to be sure, not hopeful.
So this report lands in a believable middle ground. It is easy to see why Liverpool would explore it, and easy to see why fans might still pause before getting fully excited. If the market for elite wingers stays inflated, this could become a serious move. Whether it feels like the right one may depend on who else remains genuinely available.
