Liverpool Transfer News: Reds Reach Agreement With Ibrahim Mbaye
Liverpool are set for a huge week in their attempts to strengthen Andoni Iraola’s squad ahead of their Premier League opener at Newcastle United on Sunday.
Jeremy Jacquet, Victor Munoz and Ronald Araujo have already arrived this summer, and more are now expected to follow.
A move for PSG forward Bradley Barcola has been their priority, whilst his teammate Ibrahim Mbaye has also been linked in a potential double move.
And tonight, Liverpool might have made a major breakthrough in their attempts to sign the duo.
Liverpool Agree Terms With Mbaye
According to Fabrice Hawkins, Liverpool have reached an agreement on personal terms with Ibrahim Mbaye. The 18-year-old will sign a five-year contract, should the Reds agree a deal with PSG.
Speaking on X, he said: “Excl. Liverpool have reached an agreement with Ibrahim Mbaye. The two parties have agreed on the financial terms of a five-year contract.”
“Mbaye has made his choice and does not wish to pursue a move to Bayer Leverkusen.”

Hawkins then followed up with an update on Liverpool’s interest in Bradley Barcola too.
Also on X, he said: “Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye. The Reds will now continue negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain in an attempt to complete a potential double deal.”
“The two clubs still need to reach an agreement over the valuation of the two wingers. An agreement has yet to be reached.”

Bolstering Liverpool’s Attack
Liverpool are prioritising moves for attackers after Mohamed Salah’s exit. That void could yet get deeper, with Cody Gakpo wanted by Tottenham Hotspur.
The Dutchman is also reportedly open to joining Roberto De Zerbi in North London in a deal that could be worth around £70m.
With Hugo Ekitike facing a long-term absence through injury, Liverpool’s attacking options could consist of:
- Alexander Isak
- Bradley Barcola
- Rio Ngumoha
- Ibrahim Mbaye
- Victor Munoz
It’ll be interesting to see how Andoni Iraola sets up his side to make the best out of those options. But there’s no denying that it’s a scary looking frontline!
