Podcast Only Mo Salah: Melissa Reddy on Salah’s Final Liverpool FC Season

Melissa Reddy joins Lola Katz Roberts to discuss her new book, Only Mo Salah, and provides fascinating insight into Mohamed Salah’s final chapter at Liverpool. Reddy explains why Salah’s problems were less about Liverpool’s high profile attacking signings and more about how his role changed after signing a new contract, his deteriorating relationship with Arne Slot and the feeling that the club hierarchy was already preparing for life without him.

She also reveals just how determined Salah had been to remain at Liverpool, why his connection with supporters mattered so deeply, what ultimately pushed him towards terminating his contract early, and why a move to Turkey appealed more than lucrative opportunities in Saudi Arabia or MLS. The conversation also turns to the enormous task facing Liverpool as they attempt to replace one of the greatest goalscorers in the club’s history.
