Robertson earns high praise from former Liverpool left-back
Liverpool defender Andy Robertson has been described as the "complete player" by former left-back Fábio Aurélio.
Robertson signed for the club in 2017 from Hull City for just £8 million. Since then, he has gone on to become one of the most consistent attacking full-backs in Europe.
The Scotland international, now 26, has also earned the captaincy for his national team since joining The Reds.
Robertson's rise has not gone unnoticed in Brazil, either. Former Liverpool left-back, Fábio Aurélio, has …

Who Liverpool should sign Brazilian wonderkid
Over recent years, Liverpool have turned into something of a destination club for Brazilian players. Alisson Becker, Fabinho and Roberto Firmino currently call Anfield home while Philippe Coutinho and Lucas Leiva spent large periods of their careers on Merseyside. Believe it or not, Fabio Aurelio spent six injury-filled years as a Liverpool player too. Diego Cavalieri and Doni’s time on Merseyside was fleeting though the latter apparently played a part in the Premier League leaders signing Alisson.
Whereas in the …

The What Could Have Been Liverpool XI: The Defence
There have been several players in Liverpool's recent past who have enjoyed the best football of their careers at Anfield and inscribed themselves into the club's history with memorable performances.
Steven Gerrard, Jamie Carragher and Fernando Torres -- to name but three -- either spent all of their careers or, in Gerrard's case as good as, with the Reds or -- with Torres as an example -- enjoyed their career-best runs of form in a Liverpool shirt.
There have been …

The Case For Clyne
Truth be told, Nathaniel Clyne is not an ideal fit for the Jurgen Klopp Liverpool of 2019.
That's not to say the former Crystal Palace and Southampton full-back is a bad player; objectively, he is -- as Premier League full-backs go -- good.
But with Liverpool's ultra attacking and productive full-back pairing of Trent Alexander Arnold and Andrew Robertson setting the bar ridiculously high, Clyne will find his game time -- provided he stays -- limited unless injuries occur.
There …

Andy Robertson Already Top of Liverpool's Left-Back Pile
There's something romantic about looking back at the past and overrating things.
We all do it, whether it's relating to sport, music, film or anything else you wish to be interested in.
It is particularly prevalent when it comes to football, and especially Liverpool supporters, who love nothing more than harping back to the good old days. Not that it's a bad thing.
We don't always like to claim a current player is better than a past great, perhaps rating …

The Beautiful Game - The Lookers of Liverpool FC
After Liverpool announced the signing of Loris Karius my wife, who has a fleeting interest in football at best, asked if he was a footballer or model which left me thinking what would be the club's best looking team?
From the ‘90s Spice Boys to the face cream team in the Nivea adverts here’s a look back at past and present Liverpool players who arguably make the best looking team of all time.
The Manager: Jurgen Klopp
There’s only one candidate …

Where has Liverpool's fight gone?
May, 2005, 49 minutes past 11 was the first time in my life I cried at a game of football on television. Being 7 years old, it was the first time I was of conscious mind when my beloved Liverpool got their hands on some silverware, and better yet, the 5th European Cup. Doesn’t get much better for your first time!
More to my point, I also remember how cold I was in my grandmother’s sitting room, sipping on a …

One Brazilian In, Another One Out?
The season's begun and with it comes more changes. A host of players in and a host of players out. And there's Brazilian fever all around Liverpool.
Liverpool's new signing, Roberto Firmino, has attracted excitement and hope whilst team-mate, Philippe Coutinho, continues to light up the Premier League.
An opening goal for the 'little magician' and a short, but encouraging debut from the new signing, it appears Liverpool's Brazilian flair is on the rise.
But at the other end of …

Alberto Moreno: The Latest Left-Back Departure?
With rumours surrounding the future of Alberto Moreno, it's hard not to worry about the lack of left-backs that have managed to cement themselves at Liverpool in recent years.
When the popular Spaniard came to Anfield last summer, he impressed from the start with strong performances and that goal against Tottenham. However, since that spark of early form, he struggled and has since found himself out of favour in the Liverpool side.
Joe Gomez, the exciting young 18-year old from …

Are Liverpool in a Perpetual State of Transition?
Evolution is inevitable. In football and in everyday life you change to adapt. So what's the difference between transition as a club and evolving? Why are some teams praised for adapting whilst others use being in transition as an excuse?
Since Brendan Rodgers took the helm of Liverpool FC it feels like 'Liverpool are in transition' is one of the most overused sentences for fans and pundits alike. Many pin this on Brendan Rodgers, others like to associate the blame …
