The Kids are Alright - Liverpool's Future is its Present

The Kids are Alright - Liverpool's Future is its Present

If there was ever a way to demonstrate how Liverpool are currently top of the world, their FA Cup victory against Shrewsbury was it. Not the comfortable victory over the old enemy Manchester United, not putting four goals past Southampton at a whim, they’re becoming quite standard. Not the effervescent performances of Liverpool’s stars, all of whom have their case for the various Player of the Season awards. It was Liverpool’s academy, emblematic of the everything this Liverpool side is. …

Milner: Liverpool's Cultural Architect

The youngest team in the history of Liverpool Football Club qualified for the fifth round of the F.A. Cup with a 1-0 victory over Shrewsbury at Anfield last night. While youngsters such as Harvey Elliott, Neco Williams and Curtis Jones -- who, at 19 years old, became the youngest captain in the club's history -- received much of the plaudits for their on field contributions, the first team squads elder statesman had a role to play in the victory, too. …

Anfield's magic showcased again as Liverpool find another way to win

What a night. We've had a few of those now, haven't we? Maybe none like this though. Liverpool 1-0 Shrewsbury Town in an FA Cup fourth round replay isn't exactly a headline score when taken out of context, but oh the context involved in this one is quite something. A Liverpool team where the oldest player was 22, with 19-year-old Curtis Jones the youngest captain in Liverpool's history. Against a League One side full of grown men, looking to seize …

"It's an amazing feeling" - Jones' pride at captaining Reds to FA Cup victory

Liverpool's Curtis Jones couldn't have been happier after captaining a young Reds side to FA Cup victory at Anfield on Tuesday night. Neil Critchley's U23s beat Shrewsbury Town 1-0 thanks to a late own-goal from Ro-Shaun Williams. The young Reds dominated the game in terms of possession and chances created, rarely looking out of their depth during the 90 minutes. Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com after the momentous victory, Jones said:
“It’s an amazing feeling. “The boys, the coaches, the staff that …

Will this be Liverpool's starting eleven against Shrewsbury Town tonight?

Liverpool welcome Shrewsbury Town to Anfield tonight for their FA Cup fourth-round replay in a game where Neil Critchley and his U23s squad will take centre-stage. Jurgen Klopp and the bulk of the first-team squad are on a break - as they had planned for the Premier League's two-week reprieve - meaning it's up to the club's U23s to keep this season's FA Cup journey alive. The one Real Madrid player Liverpool should sign

The one Real Madrid player Liverpool should sign

Madrid isn’t usually a city Liverpool go shopping in but the Reds never pass up the opportunity to bag themselves a bargain. Perhaps the most opportunistic club in the world right now, Michael Edwards and the recruitment team know how to find value for money in what is a grossly inflated market.  The Premier League leaders have been linked with Isco recently while Marco Asensio is reportedly a long-term target, too. But it isn’t either of the playmakers who Liverpool …

"A very football-smart person" - Klopp delights in form of Roberto Firmino

Liverpool's Brazilian number 9, Roberto Firmino, turned in another scintillating performance on Saturday, providing three assists in The Reds' 4-0 win over Southampton at Anfield. Southampton had threatened to take at least a point from the game after being the better side in the first half. However, the score was still 0-0 at the break. Then, second-half strikes from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jordan Henderson and Mohamed Salah (x2) gave Jurgen Klopp's side an excellent 4-0 win. Firmino created three of the …

Will this be Liverpool's starting lineup against Southampton on Saturday?

Liverpool play Southampton this Saturday at Anfield in their final game before a two-week break. We've had a look at Jurgen Klopp's likely starting eleven for the game. The Reds will be looking to make it 24 wins from 25 against The Saints but will have to do so without star man, Sadio Mané. Liverpool's number 10 missed the 2-0 win at West Ham on Wednesday and it's highly unlikely that he will be risked on Saturday at Anfield. Alisson …

The perfect Andrew Robertson replacement

Max Clark was a surprise name recently linked with a move to Liverpool.
