Player Ratings as Liverpool Put the Blades to the Sword
Liverpool got back to winning ways in the Premier League after a reasonably solid 2-1 over Sheffield United at Anfield. The Reds went behind after more disgraceful officiating aided by VAR, but dug deep to come away with all three points.
Alisson – 6
It was great to see our gloved Brazilian back between the sticks after a few weeks out. He didn’t have a whole lot to do, in truth. However, he did make one smart save to deny …

Everton 2-2 Liverpool: Who Was Man of the Match?
Where do you even start with that one? Quite simply the single worst refereeing performance in the entire VAR era. Liverpool robbed of 3 points at Goodison Park after a truly abhorrent display from the officials. Not only that, but the vile behaviour of the Everton players throughout the game looks to have inflicted serious injuries on two of best players, Virgil van Dijk and Thiago. However, despite absolutely everything going in the Blues’ favour and with their best team in decades, our unbeaten …

Observations as Liverpool robbed against Everton
Liverpool drew 2-2 at Goodison Park in a typically tempestuous and controversial Merseyside derby. Sadio Mané and Mo Salah twice gave Liverpool the lead, before goals from Michael Keane and Dominic Calvert-Lewin snatched a point for the Blues. But it was two marginal offside decisions that decided the game, as Jordan Pickford avoided a red card and Jordan Henderson’s late winner was chalked off.
Here are the observations from the game:
Liverpool aren’t as good defensively without their two best …

Liverpool Robbed By VAR In Goodison Derby
VAR controversy abounded as Liverpool were robbed of a late 3-2 victory over Everton at Goodison Park.
With the game squared at 2-2 going into injury time, a perfectly good Jordan Henderson goal -- supposedly because Sadio Mané was offside, an assertion that had no evidence in tv pictures -- was disallowed and Everton hung on for a scantly deserved point.
The Reds, whose performance was -- in the large part -- was excellent recovered well from their debacle at …

Liverpool 1-1 Napoli: Observations as Reds made to wait for qualification
In frustratingly typical fashion, Liverpool are doing it the hard way. The holders must navigate their way through what promises to be a nervy decider in Salzburg after a missed opportunity on home soil.
The chance to rest players, with progression as group winners secured, in the midst of a gruelling succession of fixtures would have been a godsend for Jurgen Klopp.
But it was a tame performance against Napoli, who increasingly have the feel of a bogey team, and …

Crystal Palace 1-2 Liverpool - Player Ratings as Reds eke out yet another late win
Liverpool kept their lead at the top of the Premier League intact, with a 2-1 win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. Sadio Mane opened the scoring for the Reds, only to be pegged back late by Wilfried Zaha. But the response from Jurgen Klopp's men was immediate with a Trent Alexander-Arnold corner causing pandemonium in the Palace box, for Roberto Firmino to tap in.
Here's how each player fared.
Alisson Becker - 6/10
No real big saves to make, …

Liverpool 3-1 Manchester City: Observations as Reds overpower title rivals
It may only be November, but still this has the air of a season-defining victory for title-chasing Liverpool.
They lead Manchester City by nine points, and though there remain 26 games before season's end, the sheer relentlessness of the Red machine makes the present deficit look rather bleak for the reigning champions.
Pep Guardiola's men played well at Anfield, but ultimately Liverpool just had too much for them.
Pre-match fears for City defence realised
When the teams were announced, you …

Aston Villa 1-2 Liverpool: Who Was Man of the Match?
I’ll be honest with you all – I turned my Chinese stream off a couple of minutes before Robertson’s equaliser. I didn’t think it was worth the constant flicking between grainy, lag-ridden pictures just to see us lose. How wrong I was. This team just never gives up and despite Jon Moss and Martin Atkinson’s best efforts, the Reds find a way to dig out yet another win. It wasn’t the best of performances, but let’s have a look at …

Player Ratings as the Mentality Monsters do it again
Fuckin' hell, what a team. Another one pulled out of our arses, at the death, as it looked like everything was going against us.
As far as I'm concerned, Martin Atkinson is the worst referee in the world and Klopp needs to start getting into the media's ear, Fergie style, regarding him.
Firmino should have a goal, we should probably have a penalty, it didn't need to be that hard. Fair play to Kloppo, ballsy as anything to take Salah …

Late Goal Loving Liverpool Win It Late Again
Two late goals from Andy Robertson and Sadio Mane kept Liverpool's six point lead at the top of the Premier League table intact with a 2-1 win away to Aston Villa.
The table toppers had trailed to a Trezeguet goal, but once again rescued the deserved three points late on in a display of patience and resolute character.
From the outside, it was clear that the hosts would attempt to attack their illustrious guests and they had a chance almost …
