Liverpool travel to Watford on May 1 knowing that anything short of a victory could throw spanners into their works for the Champions League qualification race. The Reds are currently placed 3rd on the Premier league log, a position that could change if Manchester City get to beat bitter rivals, Manchester United on Thursday night. Liverpool lost to resurgent Crystal Palace last time out on Sunday afternoon, a game in which Christian Benteke came back to haunt his former team with two well-taken goals. Watford are not in the best of form, so The Reds can take heart from their recent away performances that has seen them win at West Brom and Stoke.
Goalkeeper
Simon Mignolet is back in favour at Anfield as summer signing, Loris Karius has really struggled to impress. The Belgian has been excellent in recent weeks, and it is his defence, rather than himself that has been culpable for the majority of golas he has conceded.
Defence
Liverpool’s first choice back four is finally playing together and apart from the blip against Palace, have looked really good. Nathaniel Clyne will play at right back, while James Milner will keep his place on the other flank. First choice centre back partners, Joel Matip and Dejan Lovren should play in the heart of defence as they look to shut out the likes of Troy Deeney and Stefano Okaka out.
Midfield

The German is entering the final year of his current contract and is nowhere near an extension. Gini Wijnaldum and Lucas Leiva will play alongside Can. Wijnaldum will complete the midfield trio, as the Dutchman offers a balance between attack and defence.
Attack
The injury to Sadio Mane means Liverpool are without one of their key players, however, Roberto Firmino and Phillippe Coutinho have stepped up in recent weeks and will be supported by Divock Origi who is a threat with his movement.
