Article Liverpool Starting XI vs Fenerbahce: Confirmed Team News and Predicted Lineup

Liverpool Predicted XI vs Fenerbahce as Dominik Szoboszlai Pushes for Start

Liverpool head to Istanbul on Wednesday with squad management becoming part of the job. This will be their eighth match in 24 days, and Andoni Iraola has decisions to make before facing Fenerbahce in the Champions League.

The clearest one concerns Dominik Szoboszlai. After missing three matches with a hamstring issue, he returned as a second half substitute in the 1-0 defeat to Arsenal. With Ryan Gravenberch now ruled out by a heel injury, the Hungary midfielder has a straightforward route back into the starting side.

That situation also keeps Trey Nyoni in focus. The youngster started alongside Alexis Mac Allister against Arsenal while Gravenberch remained on the bench unused, and he now looks set for a third straight Champions League appearance. Iraola may rotate, but there is little sense in overcomplicating central midfield when options are reduced.

At full-back, changes look likely. Kostas Tsimikas has started Liverpool’s last two European games and could continue, allowing Milos Kerkez a breather. On the right, Joe Gomez is a serious option if Ronald Araujo is rested.

Further forward, Rio Ngumoha made a major impression in the comeback win over Villarreal and has earned consideration. Cody Gakpo offered little against Arsenal, so this is a logical moment to make a switch. Florian Wirtz will be expected to carry creative weight again, while Bradley Barcola may need to fend off pressure for his place.

Predicted Liverpool XI vs Fenerbahce

Alexander Isak should start up front, with Liverpool looking for a sharper edge in the final third. The likely XI is Alisson, Gomez, Jacquet, Van Dijk, Tsimikas, Szoboszlai, Nyoni, Ngumoha, Wirtz, Barcola, Isak.

Unavailable for Liverpool are Hugo Ekitike, Jeremie Frimpong, Conor Bradley, Giovanni Leoni and Gravenberch through injury. Wataru Endo and Federico Chiesa are ineligible.

Kick-off time and venue

Liverpool face Fenerbahce at 5.45pm GMT on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at Chobani Stadyumu in Istanbul.
