Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah claims that The Reds will be aiming to take all three points from their Premier League fixture with Manchester United this Sunday.
The Premier League’s joint top-scorer, alongside Sergio Aguero, Salah knows he and his teammates will need to lead from the front at Old Trafford. Sunday’s fixture is Liverpool’s game in hand over Manchester City and a draw or win will put Liverpool back on top of the table.
Salah knows the size of the task at hand, however. Speaking to Premier League Productions, he said:
“They are unbeaten in their last nine [league] games, so they are in a good way and they want to win against us.
“Everyone knows about Liverpool and Manchester United. They have good players – even before they won their last 10/11 games, they have had very good players from the beginning of the season.
“They have a good team and now they are winning, winning, winning, so they have confidence, but at the end of the day, we want to win the game. Whoever we play against, we want to win the game.”
Liverpool haven’t won at United since a 3-0 victory there in March 2014 as Brendan Rodgers’ men also chased that elusive Premier League title.
Sunday is one of Liverpool’s toughest remaining games, on paper. In a race where there are bound to be more twists and turns as May approaches, Klopp will be hoping to send out a statement with a win at Old Trafford.
