Liverpool can climb back to the top of the Premier League table with victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday afternoon.
The Reds currently sit one point behind Pep Guardiola’s men after dropping points against West Ham, Manchester United and Everton in recent weeks. However, with City on FA Cup duty this weekend, Liverpool have the perfect opportunity to climb back on top and put the pressure back on their rivals.
Liverpool will head to west London in buoyant mood after they booked a date with Porto in the quarterfinals of the Champions League after beating Bayern Munich 3-1 at the Allianz Arena in midweek.
They’ll now be confident of seeing-off a Fulham side who are destined for relegation as they sit 19th in the division and 13 points from safety so they’re already preparing for life in the Championship next season.
Team News
Liverpool will be without Jordan Henderson after he picked up an ankle injury against Bayern while Naby Keita is also a doubt with a knock.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is edging closing to make his return from injury but he’ll have to wait until after the international break. Joe Gomez remains on the sidelines.
Fulham have no fresh injury concerns but Alfie Mawson, Marcus Bettinelli remain out while Andre Schurrle will face a late test following illness.
Betting odds & prediction
Liverpool are obviously the favourites to win this game with bookmakers offering odds of 1/4 on the visitors. Fulham are available at 12/1 while the draw can be backed at 11/2.
It’s worth using an odds comparison site to make sure you get the best odds before placing a bet and also look out for free bets as many bookmakers offer these to new and existing customers all the time.
Liverpool have won each of their last five Premier League games with Fulham and we think that run will extend to six matches on Sunday. The Cottagers have very little left to play for and have lost nine of their last 10 games, so we think Liverpool will ease to a 3-0 victory on Sunday.
That scoreline can be backed at odds of 7/1 and if you want a more adventurous bet then add Sadio Mane as first scorer in a 3-0 win for odds of 31/1.
