Liverpool’s young striker Rhian Brewster says that he knows Jurgen Klopp has a plan for him and that he must be patient and take his chance when it comes.
As reported on Liverpoolfc.com, Brewster admitted it is very tough to even think about displacing any of The Reds’ front three at the moment.
“You’ve just got to be patient and wait for your turn.
“Obviously the boss has a plan for me and he knows what he’s doing, clearly! Chatting to him, he is saying, ‘Just be patient, your time will come, it will happen.’ And I’m just waiting and being patient.”
Brewster took confidence from the fact that Klopp turned down a loan move away from the club for him this summer. Therefore, he is expected to feature in the boss’s first-team plans at some stage of this campaign.
“He said ‘no’ [to a loan move] straight away. Obviously that is evidence he has great faith in me and wants to push me towards the first team.
“It’s hard to get game time because the front three, they are all amazing players; it’s going to be difficult but you’ve just got to keep going and going.”
Klopp did start Brewster in Liverpool’s Carabao Cup victory at MK Dons back in September, as expected. The youngster is still awaiting his first Premier League start for the club and hasn’t made a matchday squad since that League Cup game.
Brewster knows he is under the guidance of one of the best coaches in world football, however. There are not many coaches, if any, better than Klopp at developing young talent and helping players to maximise their potential.
We are sure to see Brewster in action for the first-team again this season, especially with a particularly hectic schedule coming up for The Reds in December.
