The 30-man Ballon d’Or shortlist was announced on Monday and it contains no less than seven Liverpool players following The Reds’ Champions League success in June.
Jurgen Klopp’s side beat Spurs 2-1 in Madrid to win the club’s sixth European Cup and the victory helped raise the profiles of many of the team’s stars.
The seven Liverpool players to make the shortlist are: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mané, Alisson Becker, Roberto Firmino, Gini Wijnaldum and Virgil van Dijk.
The Ballon d’Or winner will be announced in Paris on December 2nd. Liverpool’s players are in good company on the 30-man list. Sergio Aguero, Kylian Mbappé, Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Kevin De Bruyne, Eden Hazard and Raheem Sterling are some of the other top performers from the last year who are also in contention for the main prize.
