Liverpool return to Premier League action with a thrilling fixture against Spurs at Anfield this Sunday. We’ve had a look at what The Reds’ starting lineup is likely to be for that game.
Jurgen Klopp’s side turned in an excellent high-scoring performance against KRC Genk in Belgium during the week. Goals from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (x2), Sadio Mané and Mohamed Salah gave Liverpool a 4-1 Champions League win. Now they must build on that to maintain their six-point lead at the top of the Premier League table.
In goals, Alisson Becker will start as he still awaits his first clean sheet since returning at Old Trafford last weekend.
Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joel Matip are expected to return to the starting eleven after missing the trip to Belgium.
In midfield, Klopp will probably revert back to a trio of Fabinho, Jordan Henderson and Gini Wijnaldum.
Naby Keita and Oxlade-Chamberlain really impressed against Genk but Klopp will certainly want to regain the stability offered in the middle by Henderson and Wijnaldum, especially since he will be regaining the creativity offered by Alexander-Arnold from his right-back position, too.
The front three, Bobby Firmino in particular, were in top form against Genk so it will be more of the same when Spurs arrive at Anfield.
Predicted Liverpool lineup (4-3-3) Vs Spurs: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Fabinho, Henderson, Wijnaldum; Salah, Firmino, Mané
