Liverpool’s Harry Wilson says that messages from Jurgen Klopp act as a real “boost” to him during his current loan spell at Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth.

The young Welsh international joined Bournemouth in the summer on a season-long loan. He has scored four goals in 11 Premier League appearances so far for the south-coast club.

Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com, Wilson disclosed that he is in constant contact with LFC and also gets some messages from Klopp himself.

“I am always in touch with Liverpool, they have a loan guy there who I am in contact with every week, and I get the odd message off the manager.

“He says he has been watching and after I scored against Man City he congratulated me on the goal. He messaged and said, ‘Great free-kick!’”

Wilson says it gives him a boost while away from the club, just knowing his performances are not going unnoticed at Melwood.

“It gives you a boost to see that, and it is great he [Klopp] is keeping an eye on me. It is good to know when you go out on loan you are not forgotten about.

“I’m still in contact with a few of the lads and if I can get to a game I always will.”

Wilson is on international duty this week as he looks to help Wales qualify for Euro 2020 with two crucial games against Azerbaijan and Hungary over the coming days.
