Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson is not expected to miss any game time due to the injury that forced him off in The Reds’ incredible 4-0 win at Leicester City.
Jurgen Klopp spoke about the captain’s injury in his post-match press conference on Thursday night. Liverpool had just put in one of the most complete, dominant displays of the Klopp era, dismantling second-placed Leicester City in front of their own fans.
When asked about if Henderson was okay, Klopp said:
“Yes. [It was a kick] on the shin.
“It was bleeding but he told me afterwards ‘I could have carried on!’, so obviously it is not so bad this time.”
Henderson went off after 82 minutes and was replaced by Adam Lallana with Liverpool already 4-0 up.
Liverpool’s next fixture is at home to Wolves on Sunday and it’s expected that Henderson will be available for selection.
The win at Leicester puts Liverpool 13 points clear at the top of the Premier League table and they also still have a game in hand over Leicester. Manchester City are one point back behind Leicester, 14 behind The Reds with the same amount of games played as Liverpool.
