Liverpool look to continue their scintillating league form when they travel to Molineux tonight to face Wolves. Here’s how we think Jurgen Klopp’s Reds will line up.
Klopp hasn’t chopped and changed too much in recent weeks – besides the obvious FA Cup rotation for the win over Everton – due to limited options. However, Fabinho and Joel Matip both returned to the matchday squad for the win over Manchester United last Sunday. Fabinho played the last few minutes of the game so I expect to see him starting at Wolves with Jordan Henderson getting a well-earned rest.
Assist-king, Alisson Becker, will start in goals for Liverpool with what has become The Reds’ regular back four in front of him. That is Trent Alexander-Arnold on the right, Andy Robertson on the left and Joe Gomez partnering Virgil van Dijk in the middle.
As mentioned, the midfield is where I think we’ll see a change. Fabinho is likely to come in to replace Henderson in the ‘6’ role with Gini Wijnaldum and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain keeping their starting places.
The front three should remain the same, at full strength, with Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mané all starting.
Predicted Liverpool lineup (4-3-3) Vs Wolves: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson; Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Oxlade-Chamberlain; Salah, Firmino, Mané
