Liverpool return to Premier League action tonight at West Ham United’s London Stadium. We’ve had a look at what Jurgen Klopp’s starting lineup could be.
Klopp and his squad will be eager to banish all thoughts of Sunday’s FA Cup draw with Shrewsbury Town – and the impending replay – from their minds. What better way to do that by keeping their Premier League title charge on track against The Hammers?
Alisson Becker will return in goals for Liverpool. The Brazilian will have Klopp’s preferred back four ahead of him – Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez, Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson.
In midfield, I think Fabinho will probably start, despite playing the full 90 minutes at Shrewsbury. Jordan Henderson and Gini Wijnaldum will make up the rest of the midfield trio.
Sadio Mané is reported to be out for this one so Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain might start wide on the left. I would have said Divock Origi will start but he played the full game at Shrewsbury while ‘The Ox’ only came on after 71 minutes, possibly to rest up for this match.
Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino are both fully fit, meaning they will make up the rest of the frontline, beside Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Predicted Liverpool lineup (4-3-3) Vs West Ham United: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson; Fabinho, Henderson, Wijnaldum; Salah, Firmino, Oxlade-Chamberlain
