Liverpool’s Gini Wijnaldum believes West Ham United will be dangerous opposition for The Reds in tomorrow night’s Premier League clash at London Stadium.

Wijnaldum is expected to start in midfield for Jurgen Klopp’s team after being one of many senior players rested for Sunday’s 2-2 draw at Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup.

Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com, Wijnaldum spoke of the difficulties awaiting The Reds when they face David Moyes’ Hammers in the nation’s capital.

“What I can say from the previous seasons that we played them [is] that it was not always easy there.

“We had some good results there. Last season was not that good, we went ahead but drew there and we could have lost the game because they were good on that day.

“Normally every game in the Premier League is a difficult game but they are really tough when they play at home – we know that and we have to deal with that.”

West Ham look to be facing into a relegation dogfight as we settle into the second half of the season.

“When teams are fighting to get points to survive it’s always difficult to go there because you know they’re going to fight, they’re going to give more than 100 per cent to collect points because they want to survive. So it’s always difficult to go to places like that.

“It’s already difficult to go into games away, but especially when they play [to avoid] relegation. It’s going to be really tough.

“But it also depends how we start the game and how we perform. Are we sharp? Are we concentrated? If we have all those kind of things it makes it easier, but it’s still going to be a tough game.”

After Wednesday night’s match in London, Liverpool return to Anfield on Saturday where they face Southampton.
