Liverpool’s influential right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold says The Reds must focus on a single game at a time as they edge closer to a 19th league title success.
Alexander-Arnold provided two more assists on Monday night as Liverpool were made to work very hard for the win at home to West Ham after falling behind in the second half. That win means Jurgen Klopp’s Redmen are now just four wins away from clinching a first league title for 30 years.
Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com, Alexander-Arnold spoke of the need to follow that old cliché of taking one game at a time.
“Obviously we’re quite close but they’re four very tough games. Anything can happen in the Premier League and we’ve learned that over the course of our time playing in it, it’s difficult for us.
“It will be difficult, we understand that but our main focus is on the next game and recovering for that because going to Watford is not an easy task and teams have learned that over the course of the season.
“We learned that when they came here, it was a tough game. We scored in the last minute in that game, so it was a tight one. And we understand that, with the new manager that they’ve brought in, it’s difficult to break them down.
“So for us, our mentality needs to be 100 per cent and we just need to focus on that and then after that, we’ll focus on the next game.”
That Watford game takes place this Saturday evening where Klopp and co will be hoping to be within 9 points of Premier League glory come the full-time whistle.
Tuesday night, Liverpool travel to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the FA Cup before then returning to Anfield on March 7th where Bournemouth are the visitors.
