The Scouser in our team, Trent Alexander-Arnold, gave an in-depth interview to Alastair Campbell and British GQ in recent days in which he professed his love for his Merseyside club.
Liverpool’s number 66 was asked about many subjects in an interview that’s certainly worth watching if you get the opportunity.
TAA was asked about the connection between the fans and the club. He said he feels that even players like Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mané who grew up in another continent still ‘get’ the club once they’ve spent some time at Anfield.
The young right-back comes across extremely grounded and well-versed in Jürgen Klopp’s ‘no player bigger than the team’ ethos.
Campbell also asked TAA about the ferocious temper he was reputed to have had during his schoolboy days. TAA said that came from his competitive streak and never wanting to be on the losing side.
When asked to describe Klopp in one word, TAA had no hesitation: “Unbelievable”. His admiration for the Liverpool manager is clear regarding every aspect of his personality, as a manager and as a person.
