Young Valencia star Ferrán Torres would work well in Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool system according to Los Ches’ former sporting director Fernando Gomez.
Speaking to TribalFootball, Gomez claimed Torres had all the necessary traits to be a success at a club like Liverpool.
“Ferrán Torres is a great player. He has emerged very young and that is proof of his maturity.
“He’s skilful, he’s great one-on-one, he’s quick and he even scores goals.
“He also plays on the inside, takes advantage of spaces and can be part of a team that plays on the counter-attack or a dominant team in terms of possession.
“He can perform well in any team and in any league. In England too, of course, at Liverpool or any other team. Klopp’s system fits him and he is mentally very strong to cope with pressure and demands.”
Torres has four goals and four assists in 25 appearances for Valencia this season, operating mainly from a wide-right position.
Still only 20, Torres now also has Champions League experience with two goals and two assists in six appearances in Europe’s premier club competition this season.
Torres is a creative winger who stands at just over six feet tall. He may be considered an ideal squad addition for The Reds whenever the next transfer window opens.
Whatever happens, Ferrán Torres certainly seems to have a bright future ahead of him in the game. Whether any of that career takes place at Anfield… we’ll just have to wait and see.
