Liverpool and Burnley meet at Anfield this Saturday in what is The Reds’ penultimate home game of the season. We’ve had a look at Jürgen Klopp’s likely starting lineup for this game.

Burnley arrive on Merseyside 10th in the league table while Liverpool are 23 points clear of Manchester City at the top, having already secured the club’s 19th title success on June 25th.

Jürgen Klopp’s men still have plenty to play for, however. They are looking to be the only team to ever win all 19 of their home league games in a season while also trying to beat Manchester City’s 2017/18 points record of 100. If The Reds, currently on 92 points, can win three of their remaining four games, they will make history with at least 101 points for the campaign.

Alisson will continue in goals for Liverpool. The Brazil international has undoubtedly been the best goalkeeper on the planet for the last two years at least. His form has been exceptional, even for him, since the Premier League returned to action in June.

Klopp gave Neco Williams a start at Brighton on Wednesday night. The experience will prove invaluable for the young full-back but I don’t think he’ll be in the first eleven this Saturday. That means it should be a full-strength back four of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez, Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson against Burnley.

The extent of Jordan Henderson’s knee injury is still unclear but he’s sure to miss the visit of Burnley anyway. Therefore, Klopp’s likely to go with a midfield trio of Fabinho, Gini Wijnaldum and the in-form Naby Keïta.

Mohamed Salah is the only member of the Liverpool front three who hasn’t had his game-time spared in any of the last four fixtures. He has started and played the full 90 minutes in those games. I think he’ll start against Burnley too. He was in scintillating form at Brighton with two goals and an assist during the week.

I think Klopp will start Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mané on Saturday as well, meaning Liverpool’s first-choice front three will go at Burnley from the start.

Predicted Liverpool lineup (4-3-3) vs Burnley: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson; Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Keïta; Salah, Firmino, Mané
