Liverpool midfielder Fabinho gave his thoughts on The Reds’ 1-1 draw with Burnley at Anfield on Saturday.

Jürgen Klopp’s men couldn’t take all three points despite having 70% possession and 9 shots on target. Burnley’s Nick Pope was in inspired form for The Clarets, denying Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mané on several occasions.

Andy Robertson scored a great header to give Liverpool the lead from Fabinho’s excellent assist in the 34th minute. Jay Rodriguez equalised for Burnley with a well-taken finish from outside the box in the second half.

Curtis Jones made his first Premier League start for Klopp’s side. Fabinho gave his thoughts on Jones’ debut and his talent when speaking to Liverpoolfc.com on Sunday.

“Curtis is a very talented player. We have a lot of confidence in him. He played a very good game today and he almost scored twice. He works every day very hard with us and he has a lot of personality.”

Asked about the team’s performance, Fabinho said:

“I think in general we played a very good game. We created very good chances to score, their ‘keeper Pope made very good saves as well. The intensity was good so, unfortunately, the result is not a win but we keep going.”

Liverpool must now win their last three fixtures to overtake Manchester City’s 2017/18 record of 100 points in the Premier League. Fabinho insists that The Reds always go out to win, anyway, no matter who the opposition is. That will not change in the final three games of the season says the Brazil international.

“Always when we go out onto the pitch, we go to win. We don’t look at the opponent, we just go to try to do our best with intensity and technical play. So we go into these three final games to win.”

The team’s three remaining games are Arsenal (away), Chelsea (home) and Newcastle (away). It certainly won’t be easy but it’s sure going to be fun watching Liverpool trying to overtake the 100 points record.
