Liverpool return to domestic action this weekend as they prepare to face Scott Parker’s struggling Fulham side at Craven Cottage on Sunday.
Jürgen Klopp was able to rotate his starting eleven during the week against FC Midtjylland, fielding Liverpool’s youngest ever side in a Champions League fixture.
On Sunday, Klopp will be going for his strongest available eleven to take all three points in London. However, regarding team selection, he will also be taking into consideration The Reds’ top-of-the-table clash with Spurs the following Wednesday night.
Liverpool’s current injury list consists of the names of Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Thiago Alcântara, Alisson Becker, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Milner, Xherdan Shaqiri and Kostas Tsimikas.
Both Oxlade-Chamberlain and Alisson Becker are reported to be close to full fitness. Klopp may decide to stick with Caoimhin Kelleher in goal as the 22-year-old Irishman has been in impressive form for three consecutive games. With Alisson more susceptible to injuries at the moment, it may be viewed as an unnecessary risk to rush the Brazil international back if he is not at 100% fitness.
Trent Alexander-Arnold is now fully fit and will start at right-back. Andy Robertson will be on the other flank of the back four with Joël Matip and Fabinho pairing up in the centre.
If Liverpool start out in a 4-2-3-1 formation, Jordan Henderson and Gini Wijnaldum will be the midfield duo with Diogo Jota, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mané just ahead of them.
That leaves the in-form Mohamed Salah to lead the line for The Reds.
Predicted Liverpool lineup (4-2-3-1) vs Fulham: Kelleher; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Fabinho, Robertson; Henderson, Wijnaldum; Jota, Firmino, Mané; Salah
