Liverpool are reported to be interested in bringing RB Salzburg’s leading goalscorer Patson Daka to Anfield this summer.
Daka, 22, has scored a fantastic 20 goals in 18 appearances for Jesse Marsch’s side in the Austrian Bundesliga this season. He is already a full international for Zambia. The Zambian head coach, Milutin Sredejovic, has compared Daka to African football legend Samuel Eto’o.
According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool are willing to do battle with Manchester United, Manchester City, and Arsenal for Daka’s signature this summer.
The article claims that Daka is valued at around €20 million but that value is climbing as the young striker continues to find the net in most games.
Speaking to BBC Sport back in January, Daka said:
“To see our big brothers like (Pierre-Emerick) Aubameyang, (Mohamed) Salah, (Sadio) Mane, it’s something that gives me the dream that I can also make it.
“I can be like them. They are my inspiration, knowing that they also come from Africa.
“I think when people are making those kind of comparisons, it’s great, looking at the status of Sadio Mane, the kind of football he plays and the kind of person that he is.”
