Harvey Elliott

The teenager started, and was the bright spark of very few positives for the Reds. His youthful enthusiasm means he is currently a must in the first eleven, and hopefully with some Naby shaped control in the middle (and 11 men on the pitch), he can continue his good form against Man United in a weeks time.

His willingness to bring Mo & Trent into play was evident, and his decision making on point when possession was needed. The final ball will come, yet he (like all others) just seemed surrounded by Palace players whenever the final third emerged.

If this is to become a season of transition, maybe a 4-2-3-1 should be deployed with this man on the right. That may be enforced next weekend, with another player on the unavailable list.

Well played young man.
