Alisson Becker – 8.0
Recalled to the side and was the decisive component in keeping the blues scoreless in the first half. His importance is both invaluable and worrying, as top sides shouldn’t continue to rely on their goalkeeper.
James Milner – 5.0
Struggled to adapt to a few facets of the game, and was exposed when targeted for pace. His limitations shone too much and the message to Trent must now lessen, as Milner is clearly not a long-term starter.
Subbed – 71 mins
Andy Robertson – 6.0
The better of the fullbacks, with more power and energy to propel up the flank. Gave good assurance to Gomez and produced a heart stopping block late on to keep the scores level.
Joe Gomez – 7.0
A good game overall, with some solid moments of defensive play. His pace will continue to be something he can fall back on, but his distribution needs more refining.
Another good performance.
Ibrahima Konaté – 8.0
So important right now, and his towering presence was a relief for his manager. His maturity in his positioning was a bright note, with a physical approach always something he can excel with.
The reds best player right now, and man of the match.
Thiago Alcantara – 8.0
A solid game for the most part, with moments of brilliance and unique decision making. His overall impact couldn’t push the game into the reds path, but his relationship with his young Spanish counterpart is looking very intriguing.
Stefan Bajčetić – 7.0
A very solid game that was pretty unspectacular. That kind of performance is what the reds need right now, with a move back to more control of vital areas. He has possibly leapt into proper first team reckoning, and his future as a red appears to be very promising.
Subbed – 71 mins
Naby Keita – 6.0
Am average game as the right sided midfielder is a rarity, and he gave the kind of shift that a responsible midfield requires. His off-ball work and ability to keep a structured midfield shone, and he should now retain his place alongside the other two starters.
Subbed – 63 mins
Harvey Elliott – 6.0
A switch of wings kind of scuppered his momentum, as the positional merry go round continues for young Harvey. Looked reasonable as a left winger, and again did okay in the centre later on.
Subbed – 71 mins
Mohamed Salah – 6.0
Another off performance, with a very quiet home game. A couple of opportunities aside, he just looks lost within his side’s stagnation, and can only improve from here.
Cody Gakpo – 6.0
Looks like a new player within a struggling team. His work is good, his moments are okay, but his general output needs to improve.
Subbed – 71 mins
Subs;
Darwin Nunez – 6.0 (on 63)
Came on to add physicality and force.
Trent Alexander Arnold – 6.0 (on 71)
Good to have him back in the mix.
Fabinho – 5.0 (on 71)
Rusty.
Jordan Henderson – 5.0 (on 71)
Back from the cold.
Curtis Jones – 5.0 (on 71)
More minutes.
The Manager;
Jurgen Klopp – 7.0
Went for much of which excelled in the week, as he searches for some rigid consistency. This game appeared to be about making some players aware of their failures, and promoting those that appear to listen to his instructions.
The game was a pretty tough watch, as both sides look for some kind of form. His substitutes did little to impact proceedings, and though it is a tough period, at least we are starting to become harder to beat.
Which is a new thing.
