Liverpool to Square Off Against SV Darmstadt in Preston Pre-Season Finale
When Liverpool FC walk out at the Deepdale Stadium pitch, their eyes won’t be focused on residents Preston North End but instead for a clash with Bundesliga’s newest recruits, SV Darmstadt. An invigorating encounter is anticipated as the Merseyside outfit gears up for their final pre-season friendly.
Scheduled for Monday, August 7 at 7pm (UK time), this fixture arrives hot on the heels of Jurgen Klopp’s squad’s return from an exhaustive week in Singapore. However, Anfield, the Kop’s fortress, remains vacant due to a hefty £80million redevelopment of the Anfield Road Stand. This upgrade aims to bolster the stadium’s capacity to an impressive 61,000, giving more fans a chance to be a part of the Anfield experience.
Focus onPremier League
A new season waits just around the corner, with the Premier League opener away against Chelsea slated for Sunday, August 13. The refurbished stand is expected to be ready just in time for Liverpool’s first home game against Bournemouth on Saturday, August 19.
The initial band of players will convene at Kirkby to kick-start their pre-season training on the forthcoming Saturday. The majority of those returning from international duty will join them the following Tuesday. Last on the returnee list will be the young midfield prodigies, Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott, following their involvement in the England Under-21s’ European Championship final against Spain.
