Aston Villa 2 – 2 Liverpool – Premier League Man of the Match
Mohamed Salah
This game was a very interesting match-up between two teams that have excelled in the Champions League so far this season. Aston Villa have struggled to repeat last season’s Premier League form, however, the tactical mastery of Unai Emery has often been heralded against opposing teams that are deemed more talented.
Within a first half that started so brightly for Liverpool, the closing 2-1 scoreline to the hosts at halftime was a demoralising display of the fatigue that was settling into the travelling Anfield group. The second half needed more from the visitors and despite an emphatic finish from Mohamed Salah in the first half to give Liverpool a lead, the opening 45 minutes were uninspired and devoid of real intensity or skill.
It would be the equaliser by Trent Alexander-Arnold that seemed to propel the away side into gear, which was created by the Egyptian King’s scintillating run into the opposition penalty area, before assisting Alexander Arnold for the game’s fourth goal.
10 – Mohamed Salah is the first player to score and assist in 10 different games in one of Europe's big-five leagues in a season since Lionel Messi in 2014-15 (11 for Barcelona). Geniuses. pic.twitter.com/0qRsPiB69A

The big game moments seem to follow the Red’s famous number eleven as he drives forward with continual goal involvement and creative play. The world’s greatest player seems determined to achieve everything this season and individual accolades will surely follow. Today against an Aston Villa team drilled to upset the Anfield giants, Mohamed Salah once again delivered what was needed to send his team eight points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
Next up is a visit to Manchester City, the reigning champions of England that have just been eliminated from the Champions League by Real Madrid. The rhetoric that this Liverpool team will fall away sits upon the logic that Arsenal have the tools to catch and overthrow a team that struggles to lose. This evening’s man of the match will continue to deliver and that may be enough to secure a 20th English League title.
Mo Salah fucking furious
Another Big goal and Big Assist
And his teammates throw away both
