Diaz Makes Request as Liverpool Await Fresh Bayern Approach
Forward outlines preference amid transfer speculation
Luis Diaz has made a formal request for Liverpool to consider an incoming offer from Bayern Munich, according to journalist Pipe Sierra. The Colombian international, who enjoyed an impressive 2023-24 campaign under Arne Slot, is understood to be seeking clarity over his long-term future at Anfield.

Despite contributing to 25 goals in all competitions last season, Diaz is now exploring options away from Merseyside. Talks around a contract extension have reportedly stalled, prompting the 28-year-old to encourage the club to accept the German side’s next bid.
Contract situation remains unresolved
There had been discussions earlier this summer about renewing Diaz’s current deal, which still has time remaining. However, as Sierra stated on X, “Luis Díaz (28) has requested that Liverpool, if they are not going to renew his contract (as promised in May), accept the offer from Bayern Munich that is about to arrive.”

That message indicates Diaz’s dissatisfaction with the lack of progress and his desire to secure improved terms elsewhere.
Bayern interest set to escalate
Bayern Munich have tracked Diaz for some time and are expected to return with a second offer. Previous bids have fallen short of Liverpool’s valuation, which remains around £86 million.
Barcelona have also shown interest, while there has been background noise linking Diaz to a move to Saudi Arabia. However, his current preference appears to be a switch to the Bundesliga.
Liverpool’s stance unchanged for now
While Liverpool have not officially responded to the reported request, there is currently no indication they are prepared to lower their asking price. Internal discussions are ongoing.
