Liverpool Confirmed Team News & Starting XI vs Villarreal

Liverpool play their fourth game in ten days as they host Villarreal in the Champions League tonight.

The Reds have made a positive start to their European campaign with wins against Atletico Madrid and LASK. They will be looking to maintain their 100% record tonight.

Andoni Iraola’s side come into tonight’s clash off the back of a crucial 2-1 win at Brentford at the weekend, with Victor Munoz and Alexander Isak getting on the scoresheet.

It wasn’t all positive though as both Dominik Szoboszlai and Jeremie Frimpong suffered injury blows in the win.

With big tests against Brighton, Chelsea and Arsenal on the horizon, Iraola will need to be very careful with his lineup selection tonight.

Liverpool Team News

As mentioned above, Dominik Szoboszlai and Jeremie Frimpong have joined the list of absentees.

Giovanni Leoni, Conor Bradley and Hugo Ekitike also remain sidelined as they continue to recover from long-term issues.

However, Cody Gakpo returned to the matchday squad at the weekend. Despite not being used in that one, it gives Iraola a vital option in his frontline.
