Liverpool’s Stance on Salah
Despite the whirlwind of rumours surrounding Mohamed Salah’s potential move to Saudi Pro League’s Al Ittihad, Liverpool remains firm in their decision. The club has made it clear that their Egyptian maestro is not on the market. The PIF-backed Al Ittihad, having already secured big names like Fabinho, Karim Benzema, and N’Golo Kanté, is rumoured to be setting their sights on Salah. Some whispers even suggest they’re ready to crown him as the league’s top earner, surpassing Cristiano Ronaldo.
However, insiders at Anfield have confirmed that no formal proposal has reached Liverpool’s table. The club’s position is unwavering: Salah is not leaving before the summer transfer window concludes. The Reds are no strangers to the growing chatter about their star player, especially after recent departures of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson to Saudi shores. Names like Luis DÃaz, Thiago Alcântara, and Alisson Becker have also been tossed into the speculative mix.
Salah’s Commitment to Liverpool
Contrary to the circulating tales, there’s no current indication that Salah is keen on an Anfield exit. Ramy Abbas Issa, Salah’s representative, took to social media earlier this month, reaffirming the player’s dedication to Liverpool. He highlighted Salah’s recent three-year contract extension in 2022, which elevated him to the highest-paid rank in the club’s ledger.
Former Liverpool player and Salah’s close associate, Dejan Lovren, also chimed in on the matter. Responding to a tweet from a transfer news account, Lovren shared a GIF with the message ‘You’re Lying’, much to the delight of the Liverpool fanbase.
Yet, the consistent buzz around Salah’s potential move to Al Ittihad is undeniably causing a stir among the Reds’ supporters. The extended transfer window for Saudi clubs, which remains open until September 20, only adds to the suspense.
Liverpool’s Transfer Agenda
While the Salah saga continues, Liverpool’s primary focus is on bolstering their squad. The club is reportedly eyeing a midfielder and a versatile defender. Names like Ryan Gravenberch and Cheick Doucouré have surfaced, though no official bids have been confirmed. The club’s interest in Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat and Kalvin Phillips of Manchester City is also generating buzz.
On the defensive front, Bayer Leverkusen’s Piero Hincapié has caught Liverpool’s attention. However, prying the young Ecuadorian from the Bundesliga side might require a hefty bid.
As for departures, Nat Phillips is anticipated to receive both loan and permanent offers. Several other players, including Tyler Morton and Luke Chambers, are also speculated to be on the loan list, while some, like Mateusz Musialowski, might be on the move permanently.
