Burnley, looking forward to life back in the Premier League, was quite busy regarding player acquisitions over the summer. The Clarets brought in center-forward Zeki Amdouni from Swiss club side Basel, English young and exciting talents James Trafford from Manchester City and Aaron Ramsey from Aston Villa, Jordan Beyer from Borussia M’gladbach, Norwegian midfielder Sander Berge from Sheffield United, Luka Koleosho from RCD Espanyol B, Wilson Odobert from Estac Troyes, Irish center-back Dara O’Shea from West Bromwich Albion, Michael Obafemi from Swansea and Hannes Delcroix from RSC Anderlecht.

Their misery continued as the Clarets failed to win a match from the five that followed, managing just 1 draw and suffering 4 defeats.
Burnley’s first win of the season came against Premier League newbies and fellow strugglers Luton Town with the Clarets coming out on top of that game with a 2-1 win. Their woes would however continue as the Clarets have managed just 2 wins and 2 draws while suffering 12 defeats so far this season.
Liverpool’s brilliant form sees them sit at the summit of the Premier League standings having gathered 37 points from 16 games while Burnley’s measly 8 points from 16 games see them remain stuck in the doldrums of the Premier League standings.
