Anfield Roars Liverpool to the Top: Slot’s Men Rally to Beat Brighton in Epic Comeback

Liverpool, Liverpool top of the league. Liverpool….top of the league. Near impossible to imagine after the worst first half we’ve witnessed at Anfield this season. However, everyone in that stadium came to the party as Brighton were eventually swept away in a wall of sound and the magic of some players. It was a tale of two halves that meant Arne Slot’s men finished the day two points clear at the top as results went our way everywhere else. We look at the lessons learned from a battling performance and special atmosphere at Anfield.

Anfield Awakens

It’s not really been needed too much under Arne Slot until recently, but this was even better than the chelsea crowd. Anfield had watched a pretty dismal first half where the best thing was the whistle for the end of it. Fortunately, in keeping with Mikel Arteta style idiotic acts but opposition at key moments, Pervis Estupinian decided that to start a shoving match with Trent and poke the bear was a wise move. It had started to come to live already but from then until the winner, you could feel the wall of sound engulf the Brighton players and raise every red to a frenzy. Both managers commented on it afterwards. Some days are just special to be a part of.

Second Half Slot Magic Continues

It’s becoming an impressive party trick of Arne Slot’s this second half turnaround act. It was needed again though after a dismal first half, where he admitted afterwards his players hadn’t worked hard enough or played well. However, it shouldn’t be ignored that similar to Arsenal, this was another bug second half performance and continues a superb start. The substitutions played their part as Joe Gomez, Curtis Jones and Luis Diaz were all crucial in the revival and more than played their part in these three points. We might not always get away with starting so badly so that maybe one to change and quickly, but the battling spirit can’t be doubted.

Salah Songs To Sing

Isn’t it just insane that already at this stage of the season that Mo Salah has 9 goals and 7 assists (16 goal contributions) and we’ve played 15 games in all competitions. His winner was befitting of any match, as the Egyptian king cut inside from Curtis Jones’ pass and placed a postage stamp into the top corner. He could have had another before two when he went through 1-1, but it mattered not one jot. More importantly, the Mo Salah song belted out around Anfield and it’s genuinely not heard enough for a walking Demi-god. Just put the paper in front of him, ask him to write some numbers on it and we’ll sort the rest later. Absolutely peerless.
