Bournemouth agree deal for Liverpool winger subject to medical
Doak set for south coast switch
Bournemouth have reached an agreement with Liverpool to sign winger Ben Doak in a deal worth an initial £20 million, with a further £5 million in performance-related add-ons. The move, which is still contingent on paperwork and the completion of a medical, is expected to be finalised within the next 24 hours.
Doak, 19, was omitted from Liverpool’s 4-2 victory over Bournemouth at Anfield last Friday, a decision understood to have been linked to ongoing negotiations between the clubs. His impending transfer marks the latest development in Bournemouth’s ambitious recruitment drive this summer.

Increased opportunities for Doak
Having joined Liverpool from Celtic in 2022, Doak has found first-team chances limited, making only 10 senior appearances across two seasons. A loan spell at Middlesbrough last term allowed him to demonstrate his ability, registering three goals and seven assists in 24 matches.
The winger, capped six times by Scotland, has been seeking a move that would offer regular Premier League minutes. Bournemouth, who faced competition from Leeds United and Porto for his signature, are confident that the teenager’s pace and direct style will provide a new dimension to their attack.

Bournemouth reshape their squad
The Cherries have been among the most active Premier League sides in the current window. Last week they sanctioned the £42.5 million sale of forward Dango Ouattara to Brentford, while high-profile departures of Illia Zabarnyi, Dean Huijsen and Milos Kerkez generated a combined income of around £150 million through moves to Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Liverpool.
Manager Andoni Iraola has already secured several reinforcements, including goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic, left-back Adrien Truffert and centre-back Bafode Diakite. January arrival Eli Junior Kroupi has also joined the squad after completing a loan spell at Lorient.
Despite these additions, Iraola acknowledged following defeat at Anfield that Bournemouth remain short of where he wants them to be. He confirmed that “important movements” are planned before the 1 September deadline.
Transfer priorities remain
While Doak is expected to strengthen their attacking options, Bournemouth continue to pursue a central defender and a striker. With Enes Unal sidelined until at least November due to a serious knee injury, competition for forward Evanilson will be a priority.
The agreement with Liverpool represents both a significant outlay and a statement of intent. For Doak, it provides the platform to accelerate his development in the Premier League, while for Bournemouth it underlines their determination to remain competitive following a turbulent summer of exits and reinforcements.
