Rising Pressure Around Arne Slot as Thomas Frank Offers Firm Backing

Liverpool’s difficult autumn has placed Arne Slot under fierce scrutiny, yet one of his Premier League counterparts has delivered an emphatic show of confidence. Thomas Frank has made it clear that he believes Liverpool’s manager will navigate the club out of its current struggles, offering a perspective rooted in experience and realism.

Frank’s Perspective on Slot and Liverpool’s Slide

Liverpool’s title win last season under Arne Slot felt like the beginning of a long, upward trajectory. Heavy summer investment only strengthened the expectation that they would challenge again. Instead, the current campaign has unravelled at speed. Sitting 12th in the table and already 11 points behind Arsenal, Liverpool have lost nine of their last 12 matches in all competitions, most recently falling 4-1 to PSV.

Despite that run, Frank remains unwavering. He said he is “1000% sure” Slot will turn things around, praising his calm demeanour and his achievements since arriving in England.

Frank explained, “I think football is extremely fascinating.”
“It’s so complex and we all try to analyse and understand it. If you look at Liverpool now, the manager Arne Slot I admire massively.”

He highlighted how quickly narratives shift in elite football, especially when expectations soar after early success. Slot’s first season, which ended with a Premier League title, created a benchmark that is proving tough to replicate in a turbulent period.

Liverpool’s Form and the Manager’s Mindset

Slot himself has maintained a measured tone despite growing concerns. After the defeat in Eindhoven, he insisted he is still “feeling safe” in his role and remains committed to restoring Liverpool’s rhythm. Spurs host Liverpool on December 20 and Slot is expected to lead the team in that fixture regardless of the recent dip.

Frank’s endorsement continued, “I’m convinced he will find a way out. Convinced, convinced.”
He added that nobody could have predicted Liverpool’s slump before the season began, arguing that form swings are part of football’s broader unpredictability.

The Dane also reinforced his admiration for Slot’s career path, saying, “Arne is clearly an unbelievable coach.”
“What he did at Feyenoord, how he’s stepped into Liverpool. Incredible. So he will 1000% find a way out of that.”

Handling Setbacks and Long Term Building

Frank emphasised the importance of resilience, noting that all managers encounter difficult spells. He said, “Him and his coaching staff will find a solution and they will go again.”
Later he added, “I’m maybe not the best coach in the world after we beat City away. Probably not the worst coach in the world after we lost a game.”

In Frank’s view, Liverpool’s problems are a test of stability rather than identity. The challenge for Slot is to re-establish momentum and ensure that setbacks do not derail the long term project he began so impressively.
