Alexis Mac Allister denies contract talks with Liverpool

Liverpool recently secured midfielder Ryan Gravenberch down to a new six-year contract, which will keep him at the club until 2032.

In the aftermath of the announcement, reports suggesting that Liverpool are in talks with both Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister.

However, Mac Allister, who spoke in the pre-match press conference ahead of Liverpool’s clash with Galatasaray in the Champions League, poured cold water on those rumours.

“First of all, I would like to congratulate Ryan [Gravenberch]. He deserves this because he has been such an important player for us,” said Mac Allister.

“In terms of me, we are not in contract talks but I am not in a rush. That’s a fact.”

Looking Ahead

The 27-year-old only has two years remaining on his current deal at Anfield, leaving the club in a tricky situation.

There has been many reports of interest from Real Madrid too, which hasn’t helped the situation.

Mac Allister has struggled for both form and fitness so far this season, but it still remains crucial that Liverpool tie him down.

After signing him for just £35m back in 2023, he has proven to be an absolute bargain and Liverpool must do everything they can to protect that value.
