Liverpool Receive Major Boost in the Race for World-Class Forward

Liverpool’s transfer plans are starting to ramp up as they look to rebuild their squad under new head coach Andoni Iraola.

The first wave of exits have been confirmed with Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson and Ibrahima Konate all leaving for free at the end of this month.

Now attention turns to potential incomings. With Jeremy Jacquet already joining for £60m from Rennes, adding depth and quality to the front line is now the priority.

RB Leipzig forward Yan Diomande has long been seen as the frontrunner to replace Salah, but there is now seemingly movement on Liverpool’s interest in PSG’s Bradley Barcola.

Liverpool Receive Barcola Boost?

According to talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook, Barcola has asked to leave PSG this summer.

Speaking on YouTube, he said: “Both Liverpool and Arsenal are tracking Bradley Barcola.”

“I woke up to a message from a very reliable source, which said that he has asked to leave PSG and that those contract negotiations seem to have stalled.”

“That could well open the door for Liverpool and Arsenal.”

Why Does Barcola Want to Leave?

The 23-year-old has been one of the standout performers in a world-class PSG side over recent years. However, he still finds himself behind the likes of Ousmane Dembele, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Desire Doue in their front line.

A move to Liverpool or Arsenal would see him become a first-choice option. Whether that be as the Mohamed Salah replacement or to take the left-wing position from Cody Gakpo at Anfield.

The 2024/25 season was Barcola’s standout. He notched 21 goals and 21 assists across all competitions as PSG lifted the UEFA Champions League for the first time in their history.

Despite his limited opportunities this season, the Frenchman has still managed 13 goals and seven assists across all competitions.

He would certainly add a world-class level of quality to Liverpool’s attacking line and this could definitely be a move worth looking out for this summer.
